    • TECHNICIAN FOUND A ELM327 BLUETOOTH DIAGNOSTIC INTERFACE ATTACHED TO OBD2 PORT. TECHNICIAN HOOKED UP FACTORY MAZDA DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND ATTEMPTED PROCESS TO RETRIEVE CODES. CODES HAD BEEN RECENTLY CLEARED AND HISTORY AND FREEZE FRAME DIAGNOSES DATA HAS BEEN ENTIRELY ERASED FROM ENGINE PCM. REMOVED UPPER ENGINE COVER TO ACCESS FUEL INJECTOR WIRING AND TO PERFORM CIRCUIT TESTING. TECHNICIAN FOUND #1 FUEL INJECTOR IS HUNG IN THE WIDE OPEN POSITION WITH OVER 20 OHMS OF RESISTANCE. SPEC IS 11.3 – 12.7 OHMS. TECHNICIAN IS RECOMMENDING THE FOLLOWING INITIAL REPAIRS AS A STARTING POINT: 1) REPLACE ALL FUEL INJECTORS AS A SET, REPLACING ONE AT A TIME CAN SOMETIMES CREATE FURTHER ISSUES WITH FUEL SYSTEM. 2) OIL AND FILTER CHANGE AS OIL IS SEVERELY CONTAMINATED WITH GASOLINE. 3) REPLACE SPARK PLUGS WHILE INTAKE MANIFOLD IS REMOVED TO ACCESS FUEL RAIL AND INJECTORS. AFTER INITIAL REPAIRS, TECHNICIAN CAN CONTINUE ON WITH ANY AND ALL FURTHER DIAGNOSES AND TESTING IF REQUIRED.
    • CUST STATES THEY WERE IN JORDAN VALLEY AND HAD A CODE P0301 THEY CLEARED THE CODE AND HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO US, STATED THEY HAVE WHITE SMOKE SMELLS LIKE FUEL CHECK AND ADVISE
    • REMOVED INTAKE PLENUM TO ACCESS FUEL RAIL. TECHNICIAN FOUND CYLINDER 1 INTAKE VALVE PORTS FULL OF FRESH GASOLINE AS SUSPECTED, HOWEVER, CYLINDER 2 WAS ALSO VERY WET AND TECHNICIAN ADVISED SERVICE ADVISER TO GET AUTHORIZATION TO REPLACE CYLINDER 2 INJECTOR TO PREVENT GUEST FROM BREAKING DOWN ON WAY HOME AS THEY ARE TRAVELING. TECH REPLACED BOTH FUEL INJECTORS AND CLEARED CODES, TEST DROVE AND VERIFIED MISFIRE IS NO LONGER PRESENT AT THIS TIME. TECHNICIAN RECOMMENDS THAT GUEST VISIT THEIR LOCAL TECHNICIAN AND REPLACE THE REMAINING 4 INJECTORS.
    • REMOVED ALL 6 SPARK PLUGS AND REPLACED WITH 6 NEW FORD MOTORCRAFT PLUGS. TECHNICIAN USED DIALECTIC GREASE ON COIL BOOTS.
    • PERFORMED ENGINE OIL AND FILTER CHANGE. TECHNICIAN NOTED THAT DUE TO FAULTY INJECTOR, ENGINE OIL WAS SATURATED WITH GASOLINE.
    • REMOVED DEFECTIVE FUEL DAMAGED PCV VALVE AND REPLACED WITH NEW UNIT.
    • REPLACED BOTH ENGINE AIR FILTER AND INTERIOR GUESTS CABIN AIR (HVAC) FILTER. AND PERFORMED COURTESY DEODERIZE DUE TO STRONG FUEL SMELL.
    • Clean build-up from throttle body and idle air control motor where applicable. Run heavy duty professional cleaning chemical through intake system to clean deposits from intake valves, de-carbon intake system and combustion chambers. Add long term fuel system treatment to tank.
    • Isolate injector rail from fuel system. Chemical flush all injectors with Valvoline professional-grade injector cleaner.
    • FLUSHED BRAKE FLUID AND REPLACED WITH NEW DOT3

    • Inspect vehicle and note body damage and lights operations (warning, indicator, exterior, interior). Test drive vehicle and check all systems including brakes, steering, engine performance, and account for visible leaks.
    • Engine oil and filter change. Drain engine oil and replace filter. Fill to correct level with new oil. Check and top off all fluids. Check and adjust tire pressure. Reset maintenance reminder.
    • REPLACE ENGINE AND CABIN AIR FILTERS
    • Customer states A/C has an odor. Verify cabin air filter not causing smell. A/C system has bacterial growth. Apply spray foam cleaning agent to A/C Evaporator Core. Rinse clean, and apply anti-bacterial refresh spray to core. A/C now no longer emits odor.

    • Tech tested battery and found battery bad. Needs replaced. Customer states they will replace battery themself.
    • Tech inspected vehicle and recommends oil change. Found wiper blades streaking, rear brake pads at 3mm and need replaced. Battery tested bad. Customer states they will perform these services themself.
    • Tech inspected A/C system and found A/C is blowing cold. Cabin air filter very dirty and clogged which was restricting air flow. Recommend replacing filter. Customer authorize. Remove and replace cabin air filter and A/C works good at this time.
    • Tech recommends oil change. Customer authorize. Perform LOF service with new oil and filter.
    • Includes testing and inspection of electrical circuits and components as needed. Connect scan tool or other test equipment to determine cause of failure. Removal of components as needed for access.
    • Customer states vehicle makes a grinding noise when accelerator is released. Tech recovered no DTCs. Test drive vehicle and verify grinding noise on customer's concern. Inspected transmission and found fluid very dirty and contaminated with metal. Transmission is grinding and coming apart internally. Needs replaced. Customer request coverage through Xtended Auto – Authorized by Coverage and customer approval – with used Unit. Remove and replace failing transmission with used assembly with 84,296 Miles. 12/12 Warranty included. Service newly installed used transmission assembly with new Mazda FZ Fluid, transmission filter, and seal with gasket. No Programming needed. Test drive vehicle and can no longer duplicate customer concern of any grinding noises upon accelerator release. No DTCs or transmission codes at this time. All operations performing as designed.
