Customer states the vehicle will not start and has no power. Tech verified concern. New battery and instrument cluster are dead. Tested battery and found 1.9V. Charged battery overnight and rechecked – 100% life. Disconnected alternator and allowed vehicle to sit for 6 hours. Battery still drained. Tech tested draw on instrument cluster fuse and noted .20-.50 amp draw. Removed fuse overnight and battery held at 12.26V. Recommend Instrument cluster repair. Customer authorized. Removed instrument cluster and had tune-up performed under gauge specialist sublet. Repair specialist verified draw from cluster and after repairs, verified no further draws could be found. Monitored voltage and amperage draw over the course of 4 days – Battery charged consistently at 12.85VDC and maintained standard reserve of 12.2-12.3VDC. Reinstalled cluster and monitored voltage. Battery at 12.8VDC, overnight was 12.35VDC and started with no problems the following day. No further issues can be found or duplicated at this time. Reevaluate if concern pursues.

LOF service due. Drain and refill with new oil and replace oil filter.
Flush transmission, cooler, and lines with Valvoline Pro-Series Cleaner, new transmission fluid and long term conditioner.
FUEL FILTER
Tech replaced fuel filter and primed fuel system. Tech test drove vehicle and vehicle is operating as intended at this time.
Customer requests change both cabin and intake air filters. Removed and replaced both filters.
Tech found driver side low beam out. Replaced drivers side low beam and headlight works as intended.

Customer states vehicle has a no-start condition. Has power, but nothing happens when trying to start vehicle, key gets stuck in ignition. Tech was able to duplicate concern. Tech recovered DTCs P0128: Coolant Thermostat. P0506: Idle Control System (RPMS too Low). U1064: Loss BCM, Vehicle Theft Deterrent, DIM, P2M, & OR SBM Data. Tech noticed radio is aftermarket and will stay on after vehicle is shut off. Removed components as needed for access to radio and disconnected unit. Vehicle now starts and runs with no issues. Key turns fine. Reconnected radio and tech is still unable to revive condition. Recommend radio removal or replacement. Customer request disconnect radio only. Recommend performing diag on other DTCs.

Inspect vehicle and note body damage and lights operations (warning, indicator, exterior, interior). Test drive vehicle and check all systems including brakes, steering, engine performance, and account for visible leaks.
Customer states vehicle has coolant leak – Believes it is the water pump. Tech found DTC for thermostat. Pressure tested system to verify leak location and found thermostat housing leaking coolant. Water pump seems ok. Removed T-Stat housing and found that coolant had corroded tabs on housing that locked seal in place. Technician also found during visual inspection that there were 2 hose clamps that were loose. Recommended replacing T-Stat housing and clamps on hoses to address leaks. Customer authorize. Remove and replace housing assembly with thermostat and new seals. Replaced hose clamps and filled system to correct level of coolant. Cleared DTCs and test drove vehicle to verify no further coolant leaks and no overheating condition at this time. No DTCs returned.

– Customer states they have a power distribution block that sits on top of the battery. Customer has an amplifier. They connected the power wire from the amplifier to the terminal next to the positive terminal and states they should have attached the cable to the positive side instead. States vehicle started fine a few times but now doesn't start. Includes testing and inspection of electrical circuits and components as needed. Connect scan tool or other test equipment to determine cause of failure. Removal of components as needed for access.
VERIFIED NO CRANK-NO START. CONNECTED SCAN TOOL AND FOUND OVER 20 CODES FOR LOW BATTERY OR POWER INPUT LOW. WHILE TESTING POWER CIRCUITS TECH FOUND POSITIVE POWER TERMINAL AT JUNCTION BOX LOOSE. NUT MISSING FROM CABLE CONNECTION. INSTALLED NUT AT CABLE CONNECTION AND CLEARED ALL CODES. TRUCK NOW STARTS AND RUNS FINE. TECH ALSO NOTED AMP WIRE FROM BATTERY TO FUSE HOLDER WAS NOT CORRECTLY SECURED AND HAD COME OUT OF FUSE HOLDER. CORRECTLY INSTALLED AMP WIRE INTO FUSE HOLDER. TEST DROVE VEHICLE SEVERAL MILES TO VERIFY ALL OPERATIONS NORMAL AT THIS TIME.

Technician recovered DTC P0300 – Random Misfire Detected. Monitored live engine performance with scan tool and found Cylinder #1 misfiring. Swapped Cylinder #1 coil with another cylinder and misfire did not move. Spark plugs do not look worn. Performed cylinder compression test and found Cylinder #1 testing at 90PSI, other cylinders testing good at 200 PSI. Performed leak down test on Cylinder #1 and found leakdown moving into crankcase. Technician found Tech Service Bulletin for Chevy Cruze Pistons Breaking. Technician believes piston may be cracked but teardown would be necessary to verify condition. Upon contacting dealership for warranty inquiry, manufacturers warranty expired April of 2022 at 60,009 Miles and no repairs are covered. Customer declined any further diagnosis or repairs at this time.
