- Includes testing and inspection of electrical circuits and components as needed. Connect scan tool or other test equipment to determine cause of failure. Removal of components as needed for access. Technician recovered DTC P0300 – Random Misfire Detected. Monitored live engine performance with scan tool and found Cylinder #1 misfiring. Swapped Cylinder #1 coil with another cylinder and misfire did not move. Spark plugs do not look worn. Performed cylinder compression test and found Cylinder #1 testing at 90PSI, other cylinders testing good at 200 PSI. Performed leak down test on Cylinder #1 and found leakdown moving into crankcase. Technician found Tech Service Bulletin for Chevy Cruze Pistons Breaking. Technician believes piston may be cracked but teardown would be necessary to verify condition. Upon contacting dealership for warranty inquiry, manufacturers warranty expired April of 2022 at 60,009 Miles and no repairs are covered. Customer declined any further diagnosis or repairs at this time.
