    • Customer states the vehicle's battery light and other dash lights came on and the vehicle shut down. Vehicle then had difficulty starting. Tech tested charging and starting system and found the alternator is not charging correctly at 11V and the battery tested at 21% or 430 CCAs. Recommend replacement. Customer authorized. Removed and replaced bad alternator with remanufactured unit and replaced battery with new part. Test drove vehicle and verified vehicle now starts and runs with no issues.

    • Inspect vehicle and note body damage and lights operations (warning, indicator, exterior, interior). Test drive vehicle and check all systems including brakes, steering, engine performance, and account for visible leaks.
    • Includes testing and inspection of electrical circuits and components as needed. Connect scan tool or other test equipment to determine cause of failure. Removal of components as needed for access.
    • Customer requests diagnose cause of Check Engine Light. Tech recovered DTC P0420 for Cat Efficiency. Tech monitored data from O2 Sensors and performed a catalyst deterioration test. Tech noted test readings were fluctuating and not ready steady as necessary. Tech has determined the catalytic converter is beginning to fail through testing and should be replaced with new sensors.
    • Customer requests determine cause of SRS Light. Tech recovered DTCs 11-80 – Short to power left front air bag and 54-50 Internal Failure of srs unit. Tech has determined airbag inhalators have failed and need replaced through active recall at dealer.
    • Customer states the brakes feel soft until coming to a stop and then feel grabby. Tech verified customer concern on test drive and noted the rear brakes are not operating correctly. Tech noted brake fluid is very dirty and should be flushed. Removed rear drum for access to brake hardware and found heavy buildup and the brake shoes were out of adjustment. Tech also noted a few hardware components missing. Tech recommends replacing hardware, and performing brake adjustment. Customer authorized brake service and fluid flush. Tech replaced hardware, and then cleaned and adjusted rear brake shoes to factory spec. Performed brake flush and test drove vehicle to verify correct operation.
    • BRAKES – Adjustment
    • Brake fluid dirty and contaminated. Flush brake system and fill with up to 1 Qt of new, clean brake fluid. Bleed system.
    • Customer states the parking brake doesn't work very well. Tech inspected parking brake and recommends adjusting parking brake. Customer authorized. Adjusted parking brake and verified correct position.
    • PARKING BRAKE – Adjustment
    • Customer states the driver's side headlight is foggy. Tech inspected headlight and noted the headlight is cracking and should be replaced eventually. Customer authorized headlight service only. Performed service.
    • Headlamp assemblies are foggy and/or due for service. Thoroughly clean headlamp lenses and cover borders. Apply conditioner and use buffer gun to polish headlamp lens until clear.
    • Customer requests check transmission fluid. Tech inspected transmission fluid and verified fluid is at the correct level and is clean.
    • Tech noted on inspection that the vehicle pulls to the left and recommends an alignment. Customer authorized. Performed alignment under sublet and test drove to verify correct position when driving.
    • Clean build-up from throttle body and idle air control motor where applicable. De-carbon intake system and combustion chambers. Add long term fuel system treatment to tank.
    • Isolate injector rail from fuel system. Chemical flush all injectors with Valvoline professional-grade injector cleaner.

    • Customer states HVAC mode settings do not change. Customer is unsure if blower motor is turning on, thinks it is inop or stuck on low setting. Tech checked blower motor and verified motor is very weak and stuck on low setting. Bypassed blower motor resistor and fan turned on for a few seconds. Verified blower resistor is bad. Recommend replacing blower motor and resistor and then rechecking. Customer authorize. Remove and replace failed components. Tested blower fan to verify correct operation. Tested HVAC settings and verified all settings now work properly (Face, Feet, Both, Defrost, etc). No further recommendations.
    • BLOWER MOTOR – Remove & Replace [Includes R&R Resistor]
    • Customer states vehicle has Check Engine Light. Tech recovered DTC P0496 – EVAP PCS (CPV) High Purge Flow. No testing performed at this time.
    • Customer states headlights are very dim and lenses are foggy. Request buffer service and assessment of lighting. Thoroughly cleaned headlamp lenses. Apply conditioner and use buffer gun to polish headlamp lens until clear. Inspected bulbs and verified dim lighting. No apparent wiring issues. Recommend replacing bulbs with new set w/ higher lumens. Customer authorize. Remove and replaced headlight bulbs (1750L) and tested to verify correct operation.

    • Recheck A/C system for leaks after previous recharge with dye. Inspected A/C with UV Leak Detection Light and unable to find any leaks at this time. Checked system with sniffer and still could not find leaks. Recommend rechecking in April or May when A/C has been run thoroughly enough for dye to move through. Leak may be very small.

    • Customer states vehicle is making a growling/grinding noise on sharp turns, believes on both sides but can hear a noise louder on right turns. Stated had front right ball joints replaced 2x in CA 5-6 years ago. Technician test drove vehicle twice duplicating driving conditions and was unable to duplicate customer concern at this time. Unable to diagnose noise.
    • Brake fluid dirty and contaminated. Flush brake system and fill with up to 1 Qt of new, clean brake fluid. Bleed system.
    • Technician found oil pan leaking – Recommend resealing. Customer authorize, Remove oil pan after oil has been drained for oil change. Reseal oil pan with silicone. Refill system with correct level of oil and test drive to verify no further leaks at this time.
    • LOF service due. Drain and refill with new oil and replace oil filter.
    • Customer believes A/C needs recharged. Technician inspected A/C system and found A/C pressure low. Recommend recharging system with dye and rechecking within 30 days. Customer authorize. Technician recovered remaining refrigerant from system and recharged with UV Leak detection dye. Unable to detect any leaks at this time. Reschedule to check again.
